How to undo changes in WordPress
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to roll your content back to an earlier version if you’ve made a mistake or want to undo changes.
To get started, navigate to the page you would like to undo changes for.
Click the Edit Page button at the top of your screen, then the Revisions link in the sidebar.
Use the slider to view two revisions side by side.
- By default, WordPress will compare the revision you’ve selected with the one before it.
- A red background indicates something was deleted.
- A green background indicates something new was added.
Note: If you don’t want to compare a revision with the one before immediately before it, check the Compare any two revisions box to compare any two revisions side by side.
Click the Restore This Revision button to restore the currently selected revision.
- This is button sometimes called Restore This Autosave.
Note: the Restore This Revision button is all or nothing, so WordPress will completely replace the content on the current page with the content from the revision you’ve chosen. If you change your mind, you can always follow the steps above to revert your changes.
